The Religion & The State
One of the major things that makes the Sovereign Kingdom of Avalon different from other micronations is the fact that it is a theocratic monarchy, meaning that the Head of State has been chosen from the Holy Bloodline of Ancient Avalon, and is guided supremely by the Old Faith. Our micronation is dedicated to the edification and education of the Old Religion to the world, and we believe strongly in the hierarchy of the Priestesshood of the Mother Goddess, and that eventually, all citizens to be priests and priestesses of the Old Religion in their own right.
To be Pendraig is to be the Defender of Avalon, and thus its ancient Wisdom, which is held by the Priests and Priestesses of the Mother Goddess.
The "Celtic Church" is represented by the Merlin and the Morgan, who support, sustain, and affirm the Pendraig, whom the Gods have chosen to represent the interests of the People. So, in reality, though the Pendraig is the Supreme Head of the State and the "Church", he only holds executive authority by the Will of the Merlin and the Morgan. They are the Triumvirate of Power. Rarely does the Pendraig enact any changes to the Law, the Administration of the Kingdom, or the doctrines of the "Church" without the full support of the Priest and Priestesshood of Avalon. Those who set him upon his throne can 'easily' withdraw their support, as the old saying goes: "What of the King Stag, when the Young Stag has grown?"
Though not necessarily a requirement for 'citizenship', it is highly recommended that all citizens of Avalon, be acquainted with, and accept the Official State Religion as their own, recognizing the teachings and Mysteries of the Mother Goddess and Her Consort, the Horned One.

The 'Druids' and the Priestesses of Avalon
The origin of those people called the "Druids" has been lost in the sands of time. Some people claim that they came from the East with the first wave of the Celts, which separated into two branches the Goidelic and the Brythonic. Another origin is that they came from the "Drowned Lands" in the West, from that island now known to pseudo-history as 'Atlantis'. Whatever the truth may be, the Druids merged the Wisdom of Atlantis, the aboriginal Britons, the Celts, and the Eagle of Rome.
The Priestesses of Avalon, highly connected to the 'Celtic Church' of primitive Christianity in Burgundy, also highly trained in the Druidic Lore, took the authority which was inherent within their Blood and united the Old Religion with the New Religion in a way that brought balance and peace to the Island of the Mighty. From the Paternal Lines of Jesus that flowed in the Merovingian dynasty, and the Maternal Lines of Mary of Madgala in the High Queen of Avalon of Burgundy, they finally converged in the son of Aedan Mac Gabran, Artur Mac Aedan has been proposed as the King Arthur Pendragon of legend.
